How many students are in the preschool classes?
Our Little Explorers class will have one to two teachers, one family volunteer and up to 10 students.

Our three-year-old classes will have one teacher, one assistant and up to 15 students.

Our four-year-old classes will have one teacher, one assistant and up to 18 students, usually maxing at 17.

What will my child learn in preschool?
All preschool programs have a core curriculum that focuses on academic, social, emotional and physical development. Programs are linked to local and state school readiness expectations.

Are there parent-teacher conferences?
We welcome communication with your child’s teacher throughout the school year!

Formal conferences are not scheduled for 3’s classes, but families will receive information about their child’s progress at the end of the school year.

Phone conferences in the fall and a formal conference in the spring are scheduled for 4’s classes by the teachers.

All 3’s and 4’s families will receive a preschool progress report at the end of the school year.

What supplies are needed for preschool?
Each child should bring a regular sized backpack that will fit a folder in it with his/her name written on the inside, to class each day. Each child will also need to bring in an extra set of clothes in a baggie, labeled with their name on it. The clothes will be returned in the spring or may need to be replaced throughout the school year if needed. Although we don’t require items for school, donations of markers, glue sticks, stickers and paper products (Kleenex, napkins, cups) are always appreciated!

Snack: Each child brings an individual snack to eat each day. Please make sure to check for food allergies in your child’s classroom.

Are refunds available?
Registration fees are non-refundable, and we are unable to give refunds for vacation, weather or illness.

How do I drop off and pick up my child for class?
Little Explorer’s drop off and pick up in between the set of double doors off Amity Street.

3’s and 4’s:

2 name cards will be given out at the beginning of the year to be placed in the passenger side window.

DROP OFF:

Please line up in vehicles by the orange cones in the parking lot.

Teachers will help your child out of the car and take them to the playground or gym to start their day (weather permitting). If raining, we will help get your child out of the car and inside.

Please have your child FULLY dressed and ready for outdoor play. Using the restroom right before you come to school is a must.

PICK UP: Name card must be in the passenger side window

Pick up is done the same way as drop off, except that you will need to buckle your child up. To keep the flow of the line moving, it is helpful to always have your photo ID ready. If there is someone else picking up, please send in note with the name of the person picking up and your signature along with the date. Let the person picking up know that a picture ID/driver’s license must be with them, before we will release a child.

Appropriate Clothing for School:
Preschool clothing should be comfortable and washable. Pull‐up slacks are easier for children just newly potty trained. We ask that children wear closed‐toe/non heeled shoes for active play. Clothing that will be removed such as hats, mittens, and coats should be labeled with your child’s name.

Tuition
Tuition is due on the first day your child attends each month. A late fee will apply after the 7th.  There is an online option for tuition that will be sent before the start to school.
