A variety of scholarships are available to our students. Junior or Senior students who are interested in obtaining scholarship information can click the links below for specific information.
The scholarships posted are not school specific. Each college/university also provides a range of scholarships, with its own deadlines and requirements. Please check with each institution you are considering about scholarships for which you may be eligible.
Those interested in contributing to a scholarship fund can pick up acknowledgment cards at the Englehardt Library, Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, all Lowell schools, and local banks. For additional information, contact the Counseling Office.
Our great community of Lowell also offers many local scholarships. The generosity of many Lowell families and organizations has provided to our LHS seniors the opportunity for scholarships to assist with college expenses. These local scholarship applications are available online beginning February 1, 2019. The deadline is 11:59 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2019.
Each Lowell High School senior will receive an email to their school account in mid-January inviting them to join the scholarship Google Classroom. Within this virtual classroom, students will complete the general application and upload all needed documents to fulfill the requirements. They will also receive further email if their responses indicate consideration for other opportunities and will note any additional requirements. Counseling office staff is available to answer questions and assist with the application process throughout the month of February.
High school seniors who reside within the Lowell Area Schools district but are homeschooled or attend an out of district school are eligible to apply for several scholarship opportunities. Prior to February 1, these seniors may inquire about the online process by contacting the LHS counseling office. Alternately, beginning February 1, 2019, these seniors may pick up local scholarship information and application materials in the Lowell High School counseling office.
For all applicants, in addition to the completed application, a personal statement from the student is required, along with two letters of recommendation and the most recent transcript. As noted, additional opportunities may require further items.
Scholarship awards are announced at the Senior Honors Night on May 14, 2019.
